Happy New Year and I hope that you and your family managed to have a good festive break. We would like to clarify the position for Edinburgh Dental Studio following the further restrictions announced by the First Minister which came into effect the 5th of January 2021.
In essence, there is no change, because:
We are not restricting the treatments available at our practice.
We and our patients together, will consider whether there would be an oral health detriment to postponing purely cosmetic dental treatment and if not, this should be deferred to minimise travel around the local area. Where possible appointments like consultations, reviews and treatment planning will be carried out via zoom and we will not be carrying out purely cosmetic tooth whitening unless it is part of a wider treatment plan.

We have now returned to work and are already getting into the swing of the “new normal”.
Patients who are members of our Practice Plan have supported us throughout this difficult time and we will be forever grateful for that – be rest assured we still aim to fit in your “included” appointments within the 12-month period. For example, it may mean you have 8 months and then 4 months between appointments rather than 6 months each time.
We are working through our waiting lists and aim to have everyone seen as soon as possible, if you would like to speak with a member of our team about your dental care please email us on firstname.lastname@example.org. Edinburgh Dental Studio will NOT be charging for the additional PPE costs required at this current stage of the pandemic.
Whether you are a plan member or you “pay as you go” we are doing everything we can to resume normal services – please keep following us on social media and look for updates here on our website to find the latest news.
If you are in the group that has been shielding the advice is still that you avoid visits for now unless you have a dental concern such as pain or discomfort.
As we need to do extra screening before each and every patient visit you may find our telephone lines are busier than normal. Please note, as a practice, we operate under the very strictest of standards in care and hygiene.
