What does the treatment involve?

At the beginning of your appointment, we examine your teeth, looking for any areas of decay and assessing the level of surface staining. We may also ask you some questions about your general health and your hygiene routine at home.

The Airflow treatment takes just 30 minutes in total. We carefully spray your teeth with the focused jet of air, water and bicarbonate, making sure all areas are treated successfully. To finish, we professionally polish your teeth.

Your results are visible immediately, with your teeth feeling and looking beautifully clean and fresh. We can give you some advice on oral hygiene at home, if necessary. We recommend you have regular Airflow treatments to maintain your brighter smile.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How long will my results last?

The levels of surface staining on your teeth can return over time, depending on your diet and lifestyle choices. Your brighter smile will last longer if you avoid consuming too many dark foods and drinks, including tea, coffee and red wine, and refrain from smoking. We suggest Airflow treatment is repeated regularly to maintain the results, with most patients attending 1-2 times per year.

  • Can Airflow treatment be used on dental restorations such as implants or crowns?

Yes, as Airflow is a gentle treatment it can be used successfully on all your teeth, including those that have been crowned, or fitted with bridges, implants or veneers.

  • Should I have Airflow treatment regularly?

We recommend you have Airflow treatment regularly to maintain your results and keep your mouth and oral health in great condition. Many patients have Airflow every six months, but we may advise you to leave a year between appointments depending on your individual case.

  • Can I have Airflow treatment before a special occasion?

Absolutely! If you have a special event, wedding or holiday coming up and you would like a fast way to a brighter, less stained smile, Airflow treatment is perfect. Please get in touch if you would like more information.

  • Will Airflow treatment improve my oral health?

Yes, the treatment removes plaque and tartar from areas you can’t reach with a normal toothbrush. Regular treatments leave your teeth and gums feeling cleaner and healthier, free from decay and gum disease.
